Eigentlich glaubt niemand mehr daran, dass sich Netbooks auf Dauer noch etablieren können – dafür sind Tablets und Ultrabooks zu stark auf den Vormarsch und sobald letztere sich endlich in einem vernünftigen Preissegment bewegen, dürfte ihnen alle Wege auf dem Markt freistehen. Dennoch setzt ergo Electronics bei seinem neuen GoNote auf eine Mischung zwischen Netbook und Tablet, die recht eigenwillig erscheint und vor allem Schüler ansprechen soll.
Das Positive wäre zunächst einmal der Preis, denn für umgerechnet 190 Euro ist das GoNote selbst für ein Netbook ein richtiges Schnäppchen. Zum Einsatz kommt Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, das 10-Zoll-Display löst mit eher schwachen 1024×600 Pixel auf. Ein 1,2-GHz-ARM-Prozessor, 1 GB RAM und 8 GB interner Speicher, welcher durch microSD erweitert werden kann, runden das Gesamtbild ab.
Seltsam mutet allerdings die Bedienung an, denn anders als bei Convertibles oder der Transformer-Reihe von ASUS kann man den Bildschirm anscheinend weder umklappen noch von der Tastatur abtrennen. Die Bedienung über den eingebauten Touchscreen ist damit ein wenig eingeschränkt, da das Konzept jedoch neu ist muss sich in der Praxis zeigen, wie praktisch eine solche Bedienung ist.
